This is education, not advice
The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you how much of the change in your face is descent and how much is skin quality, or whether either option is appropriate for you.
Neither option is a default
Nothing on this site should be read as ranking one option above the other, or as describing the device as the sensible first step before an operation. They address different findings, both carry real risks and real costs, and the choice follows from an examination rather than from a clinic’s routine.
No outcome is guaranteed
No treatment can be guaranteed. How much a lift improves and how long it holds vary between individuals, and the result is judged honestly only after six to twelve months. How much firming a person gains from ultrasound also varies and cannot be predicted, and its effect fades over months and is repeated.
Scars, nerves and emergencies
A facelift leaves permanent scars, including scars hidden in the hairline and behind the ear; they mature and soften over a year or more but do not disappear. Both options can affect sensation in the treated area. A collection of blood under the skin, a wound that opens, or spreading redness with fever after an operation needs urgent assessment rather than a routine follow-up.
